Kia Stonic in Ashington Northumberland
A small SUV that’s big on space, the Kia Stonic doesn’t compromise. The 118bhp 1.0 T-GDi 48V mild hybrid engine returns up to 50.4mpg combined, and all models have a suite of assistance systems like cruise control, lane keeping assist system and high beam assist to make driving easier. The high driving position gives you a great view of the road and doesn’t compromise the driving experience. Optionally, you can specify a seven-speed DCT automatic gearbox in GT-Line, Connect, and GT-Line S versions.
Trims include ‘2’, GT-Line, Quantum, '3' and GT-Line S. ‘2’ models have an 8” touchscreen, 16” alloys, air con, and rear parking sensors. GT-Line adds auto air con, 17” alloys, LED Bi-function projection headlights, and GT-Line styling. GT-Line S models have heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, smart cruise control (DCT) and blind spot collision warning.
Design
Refined and rugged, the Stonic has bundles of character with roof rails and alloy wheels up to 17”, with GT-Line models getting a sports styling kit. LED Bi-function projection headlights are standard in GT-Line and GT-Line S models.
Drive
The 1.0 T-GDi 99bhp and 1.0 T-GDi 48V 118bhp mild hybrid engines all return over 45mpg combined with start and stop technology. The DCT gearbox is smooth and refined. GT-Line S models have blind spot collision avoidance for safer manoeuvres.
Practicality
With 352-litres of boot space, 60-40 split-folding rear seats and five doors, the Stonic doesn’t compromise on space. The back row has space for three adult passengers and there are ISOFIX points on both rear outermost seats.
Living with it
Connect and GT-Line S models have Smart key with engine start/stop button, an auto-dimming rear-view mirror and two-tone paint with contrasting roof colour. Whichever you choose, the Stonic is smooth, refined and cheap to run.
