Trims include Design, GS and Ultimate for petrol and diesel models, and GS and Ultimate for the Astra plug-in hybrid. GS boasts sporty styling with 17” black alloys, Intelli-Vision 360° panoramic parking camera, ambient interior lighting, a black roof, Adaptive cruise control and heated front seats. Ultimate boasts Lane change assist with side blind spot alert, lane positioning assist, rear cross traffic alert, Intelli-HUD (Head-Up Display), a heated and soundproofed insulated windscreen, Alcantara seats and a panoramic sunroof. The Astra GSE features a powerful 225PS plug-in hybrid powertrain and offer the optimum balance between ride comfort and performance-oriented handling, as well as ultra-low emissions thanks to the electrified powertrain.
Design
The Astra cuts a sharp figure with its muscular Vizor design , LED headlights (IntelliLux Pixel Headlights in Ultimate grade) and impressive interior. The cockpit boasts a 10” touchscreen and 10” digital instrument cluster.
Drive
The engine range includes 1.2 Turbo and 1.5 Turbo D engines, with 130PS variants offered with a slick auto gearbox. The plug-in hybrid has a 1.6 (180PS) Turbo/Electric engine, with the fastest acceleration and lowest running costs.
Practicality
At 422-litres, the Astra has one of the biggest boots in the class and doesn’t compromise rear legroom to achieve it. Design models have keyless start, while all other versions also get keyless entry. GS adds a flex load boot floor.
Living with it
With front and rear parking distance sensors, speed sign recognition, lane departure warning with lane keep assist, and cruise control with intelligent speed adaption equipped as standard (adaptive in GS/Ultimate), the Astra makes driving easy.
